This week, I had the privilege of meeting with the incredible team behind Casa Hogar Alegría — a foundation based in Guadalajara, Mexico that has transformed the lives of over 240 young girls rescued from abuse, sexual violence, and sex trafficking.
What they have built is nothing short of extraordinary. From one home and 80 girls just seven years ago, they now operate four residential homes, providing survivors with therapy, education, mentorship, and most importantly — love. Girls who arrived broken are now working at PricewaterhouseCoopers, attending universities, and earning master’s degrees.
This mission hits close to home for me.
As a personal injury and civil litigation attorney in Houston, I’ve been dedicated to fighting for sex trafficking survivors — particularly young women and girls brought across the border from Mexico and exploited here in the United States. Hotels, motels, and commercial establishments that knowingly or negligently allow trafficking on their properties can and should be held civilly liable. We pursue those cases relentlessly.
Partnering with organizations like Casa Hogar Alegría allows us to connect survivors with resources, support, and justice — on both sides of the border.
If you know of a sex trafficking survivor who needs legal representation, please reach out to us. Help is available.
